The BIG 293km Charity Walk!

The BIG 293km Charity Walk!

I have been a teacher for 10 years now and I love it. It’s not an easy job, but for me, it’s a calling and so when I decided I wanted to raise some money this year for two INCREDIBLE charities, it made sense for them to be linked to children and education.

I thought really hard about what to do to raise money, I sat down in the English office at school at lunch time and talked through some options with my amazing colleagues and finally decided to walk the equivalent of coast to coast in the UK which is 293km. This will be a HUGE challenge for me, because cardio of any kind is not my thing (upside down smile), but I KNEW that raising money for such incredible causes would spur me on and carry me through to the finish line. I will be tracking my completed KM and documenting my journey on Instagram @busyteachersclub – I wonder how many days it will be before I’m crying on my Insta story, because I’m only on day 3 at the moment and my hips and feet are already in agony!

I am aiming to raise £500 to share between Show Racism the Red Card and Make a Wish Foundation UK and would be forever grateful for any donation you can spare for these unreal causes. As a special thank you to all of you generous humans for donating, anyone who does will receive a gorgeous FREE DOWNLOADABLE PRINT! All you need to do is email me atbusyteachersclub@outlook.com or drop me a message on Instagram @busyteachersclub with your email address and I will send it across to you!

In case you’re not sure about what each of the charities does with donations, here’s a little information on them both:

Show Racism the Red Card works in schools and other educational settings throughout the UK to offer a whole range of educational training, workshops, resources and activities, all designed to educate young people and adults about the causes and the consequences of racism.

Make a Wish Foundation UK grant wishes for critically ill children. Last year, nearly 86,000 children were living with a critical condition. With this diagnosis, the simple pleasures of childhood and family life are replaced by worry, disruptive, gruelling treatment, financial worries and isolation. Every critically ill child deserves to be granted a wish and their aim is to reach every child.

If you can spare any amount for these wonderful charities, please click the link below to donate. Thank you so much for your support, I really appreciate it
